PLATFORM
Urban sanitation

WasteGrid

For state waste authorities & service providers

Urban sanitation intelligence infrastructure for Lagos State. WasteGrid is one platform exposed through role-specific surfaces — a citizen app, WhatsApp and USSD channels, a field-crew app, an operations console, and an executive command centre — coordinating waste collection on a single verified record. Every decision answers to one metric: the Verified Collection Rate, the share of scheduled collections both completed-with-photo and citizen-confirmed within SLA.

What it does

  • Dual-verification of every collection: before-and-after photo capture by the crew, confirmed by the citizen across app, WhatsApp, or USSD.
  • Photo validation with GPS-EXIF checks and perceptual-hash dedup to keep the verified record trustworthy.
  • Dispute and dumping reports received on any channel, triaged in the ops console, and routed to the responsible provider.
  • Executive command centre publishing the Verified Collection Rate, channel breakdown, hotspots, and provider scorecards.

Who uses it

  • Residents confirming collections and reporting issues by app, WhatsApp, or USSD.
  • Collection crews capturing service events in the field, offline-capable.
  • Service providers (PSPs) operating routes against a measured scorecard.
  • State waste authority leadership overseeing the verified collection rate and enforcement.

What it does

  • Beneficiary registry with NIN lookup where available and provisional ID issuance where not.
  • Structured profiling using geriatric screening tools across medical, nutritional, economic, and social need.
  • Care coordination and referral to contracted primary health centres, with chronic disease tracking and nutrition vouchers.
  • Verified disbursement against the donor-funded care pool, with full audit trail and unit-cost transparency.

What it does

  • Digital facility registry with a unique ID, geo-location, permit history, and compliance score for every regulated facility.
  • Mobile inspections with digital forms, GPS tagging, photo and video evidence, and offline support.
  • Permit and licence management processed and renewed online, with transparent violation handling.
  • Citizen reporting and GIS intelligence: geo-tagged complaints routed to response units, plus violation hotspots and risk zones on a map.

Who uses it

  • Environmental officers conducting inspections in the field.
